Has anyone else listened to him? I remember when he came out with "Day 'n' Nite" a couple of years ago, but recently one of my friends has started listening to him a lot, and he has a lot of other good material, way better than his mainstream stuff.

OH.MY.GOD. Kid Cudi has got to be my favorite hip-hop artist right now. I will definitely agree with you that Lupe/Nas/some random, good underground artist has better poetry/lyrics, but no one captures the emotion as well as Cudi. Even if his song is upbeat, his lyrics give you a different vibe. It's crazy! Um...from his first album (Man on the Moon: The End of Day), I'd recommend: -Soundtrack to my Life -Pursuit of Happiness -The Sky Might Fall - Man on the Moon From his 2nd album (the Legend of Mr. Rager): -Maniac (I'm overly obsessed with this song) -Mr. Rager -Marijuana (haha! ![:P](http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d173/mtforums/tongue3.gif) ) Not in any of the albums, but, "David Guetta ft. Kid Cudi- Memories" is amazing.

Well, though I know a lot of you guys either don't care or don't agree but I wouldn't put Kid Cudi in the Hip-Hop genre, even less so in the Rap genre [that shouldn't exist]. He has a few hip-hop songs, but I'd say he's more electronic and alternative than anything else, BUT discussing genres is like discussing politics or religion -- right answers don't exist, only opinions and perspectives. Kid Cudi is the shit, though! Been a fan since 08. I've got to say though, I like damn near everything this guy does. He knows what he can do and how to make it work (and so do his producers, thanks to Kanye's label and money). Some favorite tracks of mine: Man on the Moon (A Kid Named Cudi) TGIF (^) Cleveland is the Reason (^) Embrace the Martian (^) Never Come Down ( The Demo Tape) The Mood (MotM II) Mr. Rager (^) GHOST! (^) Trapped in My Mind (^) Maniac (^) My World (MotM I) The first album was alright, but some of the biggest, best beats swallowed Cudder up on the track, so that was disappointing... Specifically Solo Dolo. I just feel like that song could have been THE song on the album had he done something different vocally! K, no more typing.

I've heard good things about Kid Cudi (notably from AncientEmerald) but have yet to check him out. Have to do that.
